The Ultimate Guide To Low-Carb Snacking

If you’re living that low-carb lifestyle, you don’t need to scrimp on the snacks! While it can be tricky to find something that’s nutritious and tastes delicious, there are lots of options out there. And we’re here to help.

This is why we put together a list featuring our favorite Keto-friendly bites, bits, and sweet treats.  When you’re reaching your carb limit but need something to eat, read on for our guide to low-carb snacking.

When You Want Something Savory

If you’re looking for a snack to satisfy your savory cravings, we’ve got ideas. Maybe you’re in the mood for something salty, or you just want to feel full. Whatever the case may be, these rich, low-carb treats are right for you.

Reach for Some Cheese

Cheeeeese, sweet cheese. It’s rich, delicious, and low-carb! For the ultimate easy snack, go for pre-packaged and pre-portioned cheese bites. Or, stock up with a big ‘ol block and nibble on bits throughout the day.

Of course, some varieties have a higher carb count than others. We’d recommend you stick with soft cheese for the most part. For example, goat cheese and feta are great! They’re low carb, high protein, and the perfect Keto-friendly snack. Or go for something aged, like parmesan, since it’s got that salty, nutty flavor to satisfy your savory craving.

Eggs are Excellent

Eggs are chock full of protein, coming in around 6 grams per egg. Plus, they’re oh-so-versatile. Boil them, scramble them, fry them, bake them. However, you choose to prep your egg, know that it’s a good snack option for your low-carb lifestyle.

Chew on Beef Jerky

Of course, we’ve included meat on the list? What low-carb, high-protein diet is complete….without the protein? Just keep in mind that not all meat jerky is created equal. Some are smothered in sugar, and other less-than-nutritious rubs. Opt for a variety that doesn’t contain all those added ingredients.

When You Love That Crunch

If crispy, crunchy snacks get you excited, you’re in luck. Not only are there lots of keto-friendly natural foods for you, but there are countless low-carb pre-packed snacks cropping up in the supermarket, too. Think low carb chips, crisps, crackers, and more.

You Need Nuts and Seeds!

For the ultimate in-between-meal nibble, snack on mixed nuts or seeds. They’re salty, they’re crunchy and they’re good for you. Whether you love almonds best, or you’re crazy for sunflower seeds, there are so many low-carb nut and seeds you can eat.

Try your hand at trail mix, and combine your favorites for a crunchy blend. Or, buy single-serve nut mixes for a crunchy snack on the go.

Veggie Sticks And Dip

This classic snack is definitely our go-to when it comes to keto-friendly snacking. Crisp carrots, crunchy celery, and fresh cauliflower taste great dipped in….almost anything! Just be mindful to choose a dip that’s low-carb and nutritious in its own right.

Pick a Pre-Package Crisp

There have never been more carb-conscious brands on the market! This is great news for you since it makes snack time a whole lot simpler.

We couldn’t be crazier about chicken and fish crisps. There are countless brands that make protein-crisps, but some of our favorites include Flock Chicken Chips, Epic Salt & Pepper Pork Rinds, or Good Fish Salmon Skins

Or, for a vegetarian-friendly crunch, Hippie Snacks Avocado Crisps, are a staple for us at snack time. Check out your grocery store for more low-carb grab-and-go snacks!

When You’re Looking For Something Sweet

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, we’ve got snack time covered for you as well! Here are some of our favorite keto-friendly desserts:

Feel Good About Eating Fresh Fruit

Fruit is filled with natural sugar that makes for the perfect sweet treat. As with everything else on our snack list, keep in mind that some fruits have a higher carb count than others. That said, you can’t go wrong with berries! They’re low carb, and not toooo sweet. Whether you love strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries or all of the above, fresh fruit is a definite ‘yes.’

Dark Chocolate is Keto-Friendly

It’s sweet, it’s savory, it’s so satisfying! Dark chocolate, in moderation, of course, makes a great low-carb snack. Just make sure you reach for a brand that doesn’t add a bunch of ingredients that may be less friendly to your low-carb diet.
